Wondering what I got for Christmas? An Apple Bluetooth keyboard - useful on my iPhone 4, MacBook Pro and Mac Mini Server, a Caterpillar parka and a
flashlight with green LED's and an xenon white light. I want some ideas for domain names - not one that sounds personal, I want thoughts on site layout,
font change perhaps and if you're up to it, let me know which pages need to be 'updated'.
This is a shameless plug for Panic Software. This post, my last and page mods were
done with Coda.

Two things: 1) The border guards State-side at Pembina are assholes; 2) The second generation iPad comes out in January sometime. This has been confirmed by an
Apple support person. They might get fired or get a new position at Apple as a result.
I had a good but short vacation to Fargo recently.. which was short lived three days due to a family gathering that seemed to take a higher priority. I've
ripped the outer wall of my room out, found five cracks in the cement - crazy! All my Macs are up and running in my temporary room, including my latest lil
Mac Mini Server.. which I got for about $600 less than what it would have cost to get it from Apple. The lil boogie has 8GB of RAM, two 500GB hard drives and no
optical drive. It's tricky enough that it'll pick up a disc in a networked computer and use that drive if given permission.

The solution to my lack of storage space will be cured on Friday.. or the Monday after. I ordered a
WD 2TB HDD from NCIX. I tried to get NewEgg.ca to match or beat the price,
they didn't want to. Instead, they wanted to give me $25 back after I paid.. $269.99+7.24+5%.

Collected Some information about Faceflake's maze of security settings. The information on the linked page is follows the
trails from "Account Settings" and "Privacy Settings" found in the drop down menu at the top right corner of your Facebook page.

It's official: My web host sucks. That's right, I'm talking to you, 1&1. Between me and a
friend halfway around the world, it has been discovered that video files don't play on iDevices for some odd reason.
I also need a new job. Not that I don't like the work, it's just.. I'm always on my iPhone at work. *sigh*
30-APR-2010 :: 22:07
I'm trying to decide whether to stay with my current host, 1&1, or switch to another company. I haven't looked around much other than at (MT). I
think the deal breaker for me is if the company would let me manage all 5 of my domains, currently I deal with 3 companies for domain registration.. and it's a
pain in the ass. I'd host it all myself, but I don't live in a city with wired high speed.

My iPhone is possessed.. and has mental issues! Apps randomly crash, pirated and legal, sometimes when they do crash the phone restarts, occasionally
hitting the home button opens another app that I know for a fact I didn't tell it to launch. My iPhone trouble started close to the same time I installed
the latest APT-Key and library updates - I've since reverted back to the versions previously installed.. which didn't fix the problem. I'm waiting for
Shape Services to release IM+ v3.7 so I can properly backup some files before I continue.

Network issue update: It appears that my Linksys SD2008 switch has issues. Plugging one ethernet cable directly into the router results in me being able
to download at normal speed again.. so says Speedtest.net. The downside is I need to acquire a new
switch now.. from DLink, cause everything from Linksys (Cisco) looks like shit! =)

A few days ago our power in the neighborhood went out. After that my G5 Quad was having issues transferring data in and out of the network. After
surfing a bit on my laptop, rebooting my G5, it seems that my ethernet jacks and/or my controller chip(s) got a bit of shock therapy when the power crapped
out. A new Logic Board from SunsetMac.com is $895.00 USD - I found a new one on eBay for just under $339 USD.. not including shipping. According to
SunsetMac's product listing, the board requires an Apple Tech Disc
to calibrate the CPUs. I will either have to try and find a place to download that disc image or take it to the local Apple store and hope the n00bs don't
fuck up my baby. *hiss*
You will need to ship your old board to us first for inspection. Physical and liquid damaged boards are not qualified to participate in our
core exchange program. The replacement procedure on the Power Mac G5 requires an Apple technician disc to calibrate the CPUs (not provided). It is
strongly recommended to have a Certified Apple Tech to replace the logic board.
Like hell is anyone getting my old board - I'm gonna frame it! =|
If I get my board off eBay, or the more complete package which has everything except the HDD for just under $410USD, The core exchange program will not likely
apply to me.
* eBay listing not linked in hopes of keeping it safe from other possible buyers! =)
Also, in the images section on the Media page, I've put in place a script/css combination to display the pictures - as opposed to them opening within the
frame and requiring you to click the Media link to go back. Let me know if there's problems. Enjoy!
14-MAR-2010 :: 04:53 - My theory on why my ethernet jacks are being pokey is seemingly debunked when I run the line from the wifi
transceiver directly into my G5. (WISP)

Just a general notice that I added some new CSS code that enabled rounded corners within Opera 10.5b1. I'm interested to know if it's working for
you. The information of interest to me is the browser version and platform you're using. Only details regarding the browser version and platform
will be generically published on this page. If you wish to participate.. thanks!

I am a shit, and as such, I feel obligated to smell up your residence! Wrong, not that kind of shit.. a pest in this case. Somehow a
PDF regarding the tidy-up of MySpace.com leaked outta
the company, made it onto Scribd, got served a DCMA notice (something we don't have in Canada as far as I know), got snatched up by
TechCrunch.com, and lastly made it here. Download it at your hearts content.. and pass it around
eagerly! *smirk* .. MySpace, if you read this, give me $1000 and I'll take it down. *lmsao*

Today I received my brand spankin' new SanDisk 8GB USB key after sending in my old one, that I had no idea when I bought, other than that it might have been in
mid 2007 or early 2008. My Blu-Ray burner and external mounting case for it arrived in Winnipeg shortly after 03:00 according to UPS' tracking page.
It appears I have to wait till tomorrow to pickup my package.. w00t! The burner is a
Pioneer BDR-205BKS and the case is a
Vantec NexStar NST-530SU - from
Newegg.ca.
I seem to have figured out the float function in CSS.. just text isn't showing up properly.. at least from my point of view. I converted some page to what
seems will be the new standard.

Today while doing some business on eBay, my eyes caught glimpse of a really neat looking metal dragon. I wouldn't mind
having it on display, but the price tag makes it just a little bit difficult!

being just some retard in tin foil.." - Scott MacDonald

I'm not sure how things work at CIRA, but despite updating my billing info, two days prior to renewal, where I
get my spooky-lurker.ca domain, they seem to figure it needed to be suspended. Accessing this site via spooky-lurker.co.uk still works..
unsurprisingly. Maybe having a .ca domain is more trouble than it's worth..
15-FEB-2010 :: 10:22
I figure within about 2 weeks I'll be able to clear out close to 500GB of hard drive space with an overpriced Pioneer BDR-205BKS from
Newegg.ca. This will solve my lack of hard drive space I currently have to deal with!
Apparently you can now get gloves that won't hinder usage of your iPhone/iPod. Cheaper gloves are
available from Telefingers. 21st century homes can now be outfitted with a new plugin from Fastmac
that has the usual 2 suspects and 2 USB jacks for charging various
gadgets. The site says they will fit into any existing plugin outlets your home currently has - provided they've only got 2 sockets and nothing more.
Fastmac currently has them listed on sale at $19.95 from the regular price of $29.95.

I was watching TV yesterday evening and an iPhone ad came on TV. I wasn't surprised and proceeded to see if I had any of the apps in the ad.. I did.
Than the punch line came - iPhone 3GS available at Bell.ca! I'm now
curious to know, if any of you, do end up getting it.. and wind up jailbreaking the device. Why? I'm curious to know what it's like using a
jailbroken device on the CDMA network.. though I can't imagine it being any different than GSM.
Do you like pictures from space telescopes? I found one the other day..
18,000x18,000px, 38.66MB. On my screen, with a desktop space of
1600x1200 and my Preview picture viewer stretched to fill the screen, I see the telescope image at 5.98% - 1077x1077px,
1.4MB.
We asked for the worlds smallest Mac, and instead got the worlds largest iPod???
04-FEB-2010 :: 05:29 - Apparently I spoke to fast. It's not CDMA, it's GSM still.. sorry to raise your hopes.
24-JAN-2010 :: 04:34
As I type this, I'm watching a movie called "End Game". Towards the beginning of the movie, our current Prime Minister Stephen Harper, it is
indicated that he is part of the "Bilderberg Group". He's now also on my "I hope you die list.. painly". Somehow I can't say I'm
surprised.. goes nicely with why he don't give a shit about detainees being tortured by their own country officials after being released by CDN troops.
Notice: The torture information got to me by way of a relative that keeps tabs on that sort of stuff a LOT more than
me.

The notice regarding recommended browsers and what you may well need to watch videos, in that eye-catching green text, is now
here.
Safari & Chrome
QuickTime
What you get in return is..
Rounded corners as opposed to square in any other browser (Though the code for Firefox is in place)
Ability to see the *.m4v & *.mov encoded videos (Firefox requires *.ogv cause it's special)
Other browsers won't stop you from reading the site, just the 2 listed above will display it a lil more perked up.

I was poking around on YouTube a bit earlier.. *pause for supper* ..and I found a song that I can't find
listed on any Alanis Morissette album I've come across so far. The song is called "It's A Bitch To Grow Up".. have a listen..
I also came across a site for a company that makes computer desks that can be raised/lowered with
a electrically.
"I think we need to put all U.S. ex-servicemen on a special watch list, because they obviously could be terrorists. I think we should
flag them for 'special screening' when they fly and think twice before allowing them to take scuba-diving lessons. What do you think of my idea? I
hope you're appalled, incensed and angry..." - Bruce Schneier
14-JAN-2010 :: 04:03
For my own amusement.. I enabled the PHP function within OS X. This might lead to me learning PHP.. it's way too early to tell.
12-JAN-2010 :: 03:02
I got a confirmation on Chrome supporting the changes I've made to my site. That makes Safari and Chrome the two best browsers for this site.
Firefox, Camino and Opera will give you square corners on the black 'text boxes' and no support for the <video>, other than that, it'll all display
ok. The only browser I don't know hyde nor hair about how it works on here is Internet Exploder.. and I don't care! If you're using IE, I have
one word for you: switch!
Here's a tid-bit I wrote for those looking for ideas.
08-JAN-2010 :: 17:40
I discovered something new again today.. that has apparently been around since 2006. A project called "The
Aphrodite Project: Platforms", make platform shoes with MP3 & video playback, alarm and last but not least, GPS tracking! I didn't read up on
the shoes as of yet.. just a quick glimpse over.
05-JAN-2010 :: 20:52
I got Windows 7 last light while I was sleeping. It even seems like a legitimate ISO as in that it hasn't been messed with.. despite being only half
the size of the Vista ISO! Freaky! Now I'll have to get my hands on a testing drive and see how quickly I "pick up on it". Time will
tell when that happens and I tell you my 2 cents on it. Good night!
05-JAN-2010 :: 13:01
Ok, I'm not sure about the rest of you, but I just did a search for the Chrome page.. found it no problem (duh!), with a nice lil message on the page saying
"Your system is not supported". As it turns out, you gotta have one of them silly lil Intel
chips crammed in your Mac to be able to use it. My G5 PPC powered machine is showing it's age in
that area.. but it's still the best work-horse I've had.
I still remember how Steve Jobs was so happy to announce that Apple was switching to Intel procs, and looking
back on that, I don't know if that was a wise move. He blamed the heat issue with the G5 PPC chips for not using them in the laptops and ultimately
switching to Intel. PPC coded app installers were smaller than the same app coded for x86 Mac's.. never mind a universal binary. The only nice thing
about the x86 Mac's, combined with CrossOver is the ability to run compatible apps within
OS X.
03-JAN-2010 :: 22:26
The Media page has been re-organized, links fixed.. dead ones removed. I've spent some time cleaning up a lot of code from
various other pages within my site and I still have a lot to go through. If you find a page that doesn't work for you, let me know which browser you
are using and on which operating system. Thanks!
02-JAN-2010 :: 13:10
I added some new videos on the Media page. Firefox I know won't work to view them - I checked..
Safari will, and I have no clue about Chrome. I have re-encoded a bunch of other videos on the
server, so, if you by chance happen to load a page that once used to have a working video on it, be patient, it will work again in time. *LoL*
01-JAN-2010 :: 19:21
I managed to get my hands on some funny videos. I intend on using HTML5 coding for 'putting' them on pages, and because I don't plan to encode them into
both MP4 and OGV, it might only be possible to view them with Safari or Chrome.
01-JAN-2010 :: 11:01
So, I started the new year by yanking the music I liked off Dynamite.ca's server - which turned out easier
than expected.
10-JAN-2010 :: 16:07 - If requested, I'll put them on the server.
