I just downloaded a program called 'FTP On The Go'. I'm using my new app on my phone to make this blog entry. Amusing as it might be, it's very tedious
when compared to Dreamweaver. If I don't make another entry before midnight...

HAPPY FREAKING NEW YEAR!

Seems like site design/layout will be the least of my problems in comparison to the code I need to clean up. The W3C validator just about overloads and
blows up! =|
27-DEC-2009 :: 08:58
I found the answer to my 'centering' problem. Now I'm wondering about overall site design/layout.. =/
27-DEC-2009 :: 06:09
I'm not sure why, but for some reason text inside the 'boxes' doesn't get centered in browsers, but in Dreamweaver it does. Not impressed!
*rolls eyes*
26-DEC-2009 :: 17:59
Ok, one thing is clear, Dreamweaver CS4 does not support HTML 5. Browser needed for checking code.. not surprised!
The coding used here will be nice for grouping multiple posts in a day. =p
26-DEC-2009 :: 11:06
Ok, I'm not sure how or when my redesign of this site is going to happen, but I will be trying to use as much HTML 5 and CSS as possible. For you readers, you
will need to arm yourself with the latest Safari, Firefox, Chrome and possibly Opera - IE simply does not understand HTML 5 or the upcoming CSS 3. Videos will
be in MP4 format, ruling out Firefox and Internet Exploder as compatible browsers for this site, at least for videos - unless things change between now and
then. The graphite background will disappear. Also, if I'm lucky enough, the 'Tables' I use will be gone and replaced with CSS. I wonder when
Adobe will release Creative Suite 5..
The only thing standing between me and completion, is laziness..

I installed Snow Leopard (10.6) on my laptop the other day.. and discovered a few things 10.6 did during the install process and afterwards. Prior to Snow
Leopard, if you had QuickTime 7 serialized to QuickTime 7 Pro, it will move QT7 to the Utilities folder and install QuickTime X in the Applications folder.
The other thing that gets changed, is that QuickTime in System Preferences gets removed and Bluetooth preferences pane goes in it's place. While I'm relived
that my QT7 Pro stayed in working order on my laptop, I'm slightly ticked and confused as to why Apple saw fit to remove it from System Preferences. System
Preferences, is like the Control Panel in Windows. I'm was also pleasantly surprised that the 4-finger gesture on my MacBook Pro does indeed work.

I've been toying with the idea of using WordPress on my site. The only 2 benefits are that I could then publish from my iPhone on the fly and feedback.
Before that will happen, I need to stop being so slack about it. A possible site overhaul is not out of the question either. I'm
open to ideas/comments.

Quick note from 11-NOV-2009: We parked about a block away.. at which pont the base thumping from inside the brick walls was loud enough to make you think that some
punk was driving by you with his stereo cranked - it was just Dada Life making sure things were working. Things got under way at 20:00, at about 8000 -
10,000 watts of sound, till 02:00. The joint was
packed!! Just over 3000 people apparently attended this time. After party went from 02:00 till
06:00. 10 hours of partying sure takes it's toll on a person, but it was soooo worth it.
So much for the quick note.
Were you ever scared out of your wits when someone read you the book of Little Red Ridinghood? Perhaps the Three Little Pigs? No? Ok, I give up,

I found a neat lil plugin that kills Flash on webpages by
ClickToFlash .. Mac only. I also learned of
a new app for checking on the security of Wi-Fi networks .. Mac only. If you really want to know the name of it, you can ask me, I won't put it up here. I
know it's one of many, but this one is capable of cracking security. The few of you that are gifted in this area of computers & related may already know
of it. There is another that scans for bluetooth signals as well, but I don't know what it's all capable of yet.. though it does look interesting.
I seriously need more storage space and a
Blu-Ray burner. Watching Blu-Ray movies off hard
drives is choppy. =/

i found me a application for my iPhone that lets me wirelessly control the mouse and keyboard. The app is call Remote Pad, which requires a small 'server' app
from
Tenjin.org. It's available for Mac and Windows - Linux users will have to deal with source
code and compiling I think. On the amusing side of things today, I ended up pulling my dad's fully loaded '01 Super Duty F-250 out of a mud hole with my empty
'98 2500 Chevy.

I heard a damning story today about the Brunkhild Z dike. While the guys that were doing the rounds and checking up on the dike and water levels, at 4am or so,
there were military personal and guys in suits destroying the dike with dozers and backhoes. This was done because a lot more houses in Winnipeg would have
been destroyed than in St. Agathe. The big story here is that it was cheaper to build new houses in St. Agathe than an unknown amount in Winnipeg.

I came across a pair of chairs I've dubbed 'Mad Hatter Chairs'. Had some fun this last week.. officially I never was away - don't ask. =) Also,
after 4 years of working for one company, I got the boot. Scaling down was the reason for the boot - I think it's BS, but it happened. As a result I've
applied for work at 2 of the competitors - seriously, what else was I suppose to do? Sit on my ass for a year? I think not! Either way, one more
year of operating loader is all I need to be 'home free' - 2 years would be ideal - than I could go find some low paying job in a new line of work if I feel
like it.

I was surfing the net the other day and than all of a sudden out of the blue, some quick blip from a past memory sticks in my head. Surfing comes to an abrupt
halt as I try and find more information on the subject - I was trying to recall the site address I had seen what seems like forever ago. I tried a few searches
and came up empty, than I searched for "computer setups", minus the quotes. BAM! There it was! A single image that stood out from the
rest like no other. That image lead to me surfing the net the whole night on 2 sites - 4 if you count the Flickr pages. Stefan's site I first ran across
when he was using CRT displays, second time was when he first switched to LCD displays, and now a few days ago - a while after he remodelled his office .. Office
6.0. Mitch's site, is a new one to me, which was still very interesting.

My G5 Quad officially now has 3.5GB of system memory now. Performance increase is noticable and would make things wonderful for when the G5 takes on full web
server duty - if only in my dreams. This site is getting cleaned up behind the scenes so it displays properly in Safari 4 on Windows .. whenever I run across
something not displaying stuff properly. Found something wrong that I haven't seen yet? Please use the contact link at the

Well, playing with Safari 4 Beta 'Leo', is most defiantly speediest browser I have set my eyes on. I now know what CNET is ranting and raving about the Java
Engine renderer that is in Safari 4 Beta 'Leo'. The 'tab' layout it uses has to be a sure swipe from Google's Chrome - if I'm right. I tried Safari 4
out on Apple's site, mainly cause I'm aware that they use Java quite extensively and it loaded the site up much quicker than Safari 3 ever did! Think of
Safari 4 as the exotic sports car you'll never have the money to afford.

I found a revolutionary keyboard from a company that Apple bought in 2005. The company is FingerWorks, the name of the keyboard is
"
MacNTouch. The keyboard was designed to be a drop-in replacement for the factory
keyboard on the 12 , 15" and 17 PowerBook G4's. I dare you to try and find a laptop for sale with a keyboard like that installed! Happy
hunting. =)

My G5 Quad will be a happy camper once again in about a week - I put in an order for 2GB of ram. I was expecting a price close to $150 - $200, instead it was
barely over $43. w00t!

I was musing around the net earlier today and found some pictures of what the iPhone 4G or 3.5G, whatever Apple decides to call it,
might look like.
One of them is in keeping with the
look of the MacBook Pro's and the other
looks like
the current iPhone 3G. For me, the first one is too thin, the camera in the back won't lend itself to being more than 3.2MP and the one in the front will
quite likely be in the way for anyone wanting to make a case for it, and last but not least, the aluminum casing would put a huge cramp in getting your signal out
there. The second design would have my complete support if it would lose the 'slider' design. The camera on the front could stand to be moved towards
the middle a bit more for my part though.
Candidate number 3 fails in every such way - except the placement of the iChat
camera. It lends itself for the viewer at the other end to see the one they are talking to front and center, depending on how you hold it of course.
Now, for those of you that like to dissect electronics, myself included, here's a pic of an iPhone 3G that was
disasembled
by someone in Australia - going by what it said on the site.

I have found out that a game I bought a while back, Need For Speed Undercover, doesn't work on Windows Vista - shocking! I will be going backwards in time and
resort to using XP Pro w/ SP3 ..
legally. Now some of you will be scratching your head and wondering why I'm actually going to buy it - Microsoft has
caused me enough grief trying to pirate my previous copies of XP that I used. I never paid for it when it came out, neither for Vista. I swear I got
lucky on my Vista key, so I will be using a different drive for XP. Part of my enthusiasm for XP I have a friend to thank for - he was using Microsoft's
'Zune' theme, which actually looked quite nice. You can download it
here (1.64MB).

I'm not sure where most of the people along the Manitoba/US border. According to TV news, and what I've heard, we'll have a UAV (Unmanned Ariel Vehicle) or 2
patrolling our border courtesy of the terrorists to the south .. who are hiding in that big ugly white coloured house, with presumably lots of support from the
Pentagon and American military. They claim they'll be unarmed, but what about later on? The one that was painted in border patrol colours, still had the
missile pods in place, but nothing on them.
A while back I found a document on the MQ-9 Reaper of it being operational in
Afghanistan airspace, and should you decide to
watch the movie 'Eagle Eye', you can watch it in action - along with I might add, an irrational operator, who did not get his target. Still like the lil
devils?

I now have iLife '09 installed, and, it's strange.. very strange. iPhoto has this face recognition feature, which sometimes thinks another part of an image is
a face, allows tagging like on Facebook. iWeb has been improved, greatly in my eyes, since it now supports saving to an FTP of your choice - iWeb '08 only
saved to a folder or MobileMe (aka .Mac). I am happy Apple got off their high horse on that one. GarageBand I guess has been improved, going simply by
first impressions cause of the new welcome window of sorts. iDVD and iMovie don't get used much by me so it's hard to say for those how they have changed
since iLife '08.

I used to be a real watch freak back years ago. I'd go bugger off to Casio's website, and the competition a bit here n there. Today I found something
new among checking for prices on night vision monoculars - a radiation detection
watch. As for the night vision
monoculars I would like, which happen to be Gen. 4, are still prohibited from being exported out of the 'stars & stripes'. Wonder why..
By the way, did any of you know that Canada used to have a few aircraft carriers? I read on one site that the last was was finally paid off around 1971 and
than later scrapped out by Taiwan. Here's a
pic of one.

I was playing scrabble this evening, on a board not online, at the dinner table, I saw some lights and than a few seconds later the house shook a bit. Turns
out my dad knows who the guy is along with his company name. From what the guy said, they thought our driveway was a bay and figured they would drive in and
turn around. Well, they successfully made their u-turn, which was 2 feet from my dad's truck hitch, some how managed to drive over the railway ties by the
driveway, which led to them taking down one of the antennas on the yard - with some help from the attached coax cable. I seen the truck sitting there, drivers
side on the left side of the ditch, right side in the ditch, called dad up from his hidey hole. He spoke with them for a bit, after seeing the damage they had
done and proceeded to make a phone call. The guys started walking towards the highway, or at least in that general direction, shortly after, there was a newer
evergreen coloured quad cab Jeep along with a evergreen coloured extended cab GM pickup. The pickup driver tried to pull them out with no luck. The truck
is still sitting there as I write this, but I don't know when it will be towed tomorrow. A picture of the plate has been taken but it's not online. The
vehicle owner seems to be severely interested in paying for the damages rather than get charged - though both may happen, just one way there might not be a criminal
charge. Who knows.
I'll have more dirt tomorrow. *evil grin*
This technically happened on 05-FEB-2009.

Ok, I have a problem.. but it's a minor thing at this point. I can't just copy the source of the page that tell's you your message has been sent, cause it
puts a copy of the message you sent after you hit the 'submit' button. Maybe I'll make a page to take care of that, just it won't show the message you've
sent. The form does however send you a confirmation email with all the information you sent.

Finally! After having to deal with a
1&1.com designed form for so long, it now looks like my own!
I decided to play with the code a bit, tweaked it, modified it, and now.. it blends right in with the rest of my pages! If you're thinking you can simply copy
the code and use it on your own site, you're wrong - it's attached to a CGI script of sorts which in return is linked to an email address.. that I own. The
form is mine, Sorry. =)

I've done some reorganizing of files on the server, so if you run across anything that don't load properly,

under the 'Media' section on

If you tried to access my site a day or 2 ago, possibly 3, you would have gotten an error on a
completely different layout than what you were used to
seeing. I was trying a feature on my host,
1&1.com called 1&1 Blog. It asked me which domain
I wanted to put it on and I naturally chose the "s130135561" sub-domain since I was the one using it. Little did I know that it would not let access
to all the other stuff I had hosted on that domain. So, now after that short stint, it is all back to normal - no screenshots of it either.

Those of you who were thinking of getting an iPhone 3G, do yourself a favour.. and wait till June. Supposedly Apple is going to be releasing a
quad-core
powered iPhone that month - if they stick to the date I've sen on other rumour sites that watch Apple. Maybe they'll have more storage too.. Also, when
things get back in order for me, that being busy season, I've been looking at 3 server storage solutions - since repeatedly buying external cases and drives is
simply a mess. Here are links to them:
The Thecus N7700 might be overkill for most home users so for you, I'd suggest the HP ex470. Now on the other hand, if you should happen to be a pirate of

Ok, this entry is to raise petition support for an application for the iPhone. The application in question is called 'SpoofApp'. While Apple is taking
their jolly time 'reviewing', people with other devices or those with no remorse on 'Jailbreaking' their iPhone already have access to it. Do the rest of us
a favor and sign the
petition. For the official site..

Alright, after unknown amounts of time, and patience, I have a new 'logo' image if you want to call it that. Everything shows up the way it's suppose to, in
Safari, which is the only browser I double check all my work in. If you hate Safari, or refuse to use it and see errors on your screen, feel free to complain
to me - your messages will be read. I've also redone a bunch of code work under the skin.. which actually shrunk a page or down down in size by a few
Kilobytes, which surprised even me. Also, if your screen resolution is lower than 1024x768, this site will not display properly and I will
not take the time to edit it just for the few of you. Like it or hate it, change is inevitable.. and it's here to stay.. for now.

Interesting little notebook from
MSI, tagged as Wind 2 (or U120), is armed with a SIM card slot for 3.5G HSPDA service providing
up to 7.2Mbps down and 2.2Mbps up.. according to the review over at

go before it will be good enough for me to think about getting - such as a solid state drive and better physical design.. like a Mac. *wink*

Ok, I know I haven't been on here in a bloody freaking long time - sue me! Heaven forbid you dare ask me to recall everything that might have been or was
interesting the last few months I haven't been on here. Work gets the best of me during work season - along with hanging out with friends.
November: I switched my cell service provider to Rogers as MTS pissed me off by not fulfilling one simple request - and I got tired of behind the rest of the
cellular world by 3-4 years! Hello iPhone.. or anything else I decide to get!
December found my ass another year older - squee. It also saw me emptying out my room so my desk could get built - which finally got it's last coat of
varnish on the 5th! The new years party at The Edge was fantastic! Got there at 21:05, 15 minutes later I win the first draw of the night - $250!
Credit goes to one waitress that works there - thanks!! Yes, I got shit-faced. Happy freaking new years!! Bite me! =p
